On October 8th, our classes will complete the CBITS screener. Information was sent home with your child yesterday. The following information will be given to the students.
About the CBITS Screener:
- During Advisory on Monday, October 8th, all students in 6th-grade will be completing the CBITS Screener.
- CBITS stands for Cognitive Behavioral Intervention for Trauma in Schools. All 6th-grade students in the Madison Metropolitan School District take this each year.
- A passive consent form was sent home on 10/1/18. It is an option to opt your child out. Sign the form and send it back to school.
- Some of the questions on the screener are personal and difficult feelings may come up for you. If you need a break or need to speak with someone, let your teacher know.
- It is important that you answer these questions based off of real experiences in your own life and NOT from any stories you’ve heard or something you’ve seen in a movie/tv/video game.
