We had a great day at the museum yesterday. Thank you to all of the families who volunteered. We reflected today in class back to our identities and if we saw ourselves and identities reflected in the flowers; really interesting conversations.
  1. Look back at your identity flower.
  2. Reread the identities you wrote on the pedals.
  3. Reflect and think back to yesterday at the museum.
  4. Where did you see one or more of your identities in the museum? It may have been through music, art, visual, written, etc…..
  5. Write about where you saw your identity represented.
  6. If you did not, what suggestions do you have for the museum to incorporate one of your identities?

We have a couple of projects going on at once in class. Students are working on answering the essential questions: " What was the most remarkable achievement of the Maya?" Above are examples from the groups working together. They are using a number of sources they are using to support their co-created claim statement.

Identity is an ongoing conversation in our classroom. We spoke about how people are judged and what we think we are judged on. Those judgments are on the outside of our circle. On the inside, is how we truly feel in our hearts. There are times when there are matches between the two, but not always.
